5. CHECKING, DISASSEMBLING AND SERVICING
<4> SERVICING
1) Clutch Housing
*. PART NAME
1) Inner, Coupling 2) Outer, Coupling
< Checking bearing >
1. Hold the inner race, and push and pull the outer
race in all directions to check for wear and
roughness.
2. Apply transmission fluid to the bearing, and hold
the inner race. Then turn the outer race to check
rotation.
3. If there is any defect, replace it.
< Checking propeller shaft ball coupling >
1. Hold the ball coupling outer, and push and pull,
and rotate the ball coupling inner in all
directions to check for wear and roughness.
2. If there is any defect, replace it.
▷ Reassembling
9 Apply grease to the inner parts of ball coupling
and spline of ball coupling inner.
9 When replacing the ball coupling assembly,
install the ball coupling inner(1) with balls so that
its ball position inside of ball coupling outer(2)
as shown in the figure.
