Step 1: Remove the protective cap before use.
Step 4: Press the temperature button to take a reading.
Step 2: Press power button. Device indicates readiness with dashes on screen.
Step 5: Read the displayed temperature and repeat if necessary.
Step 3: Position device up to 2 inches from forehead, use yellow light guide.
Step 6: Press power button to turn off, or device auto-shuts off.
Clean casing and probe with alcohol swab; avoid liquids and abrasive cleaners.
