Why does my Breckwell SP1002 Pellet stove have a smoke smell coming back into the home?
    • J
      Jose MartinAug 28, 2025
If you're experiencing a smoke smell from your Breckwell Pellet stove, it could be due to: * A leak in the vent pipe system. Inspect all vent pipe connections and seal them with RTV silicone (rated 500°F or higher) and UL-181-AP foil tape. Also, make sure the square to round adapter piece on the combustion blower has been properly sealed with the same RTV. * A bad gasket on the combustion blower. Inspect both gaskets on the combustion blower to make sure they are in good shape.

Why does the convection blower on my Breckwell SP1002 Pellet stove shut off and come back on?
    • G
      Gabrielle CruzAug 31, 2025
The convection blower in your Breckwell Pellet stove might be shutting off and on due to: * Overheating. Clean any dust off of the windings and fan blades. * Circuit board malfunction. Test the current going to the convection blower. If there is NOT power being sent to the blower when it shuts off during operation, then you have a bad control board.

      joannallenSep 4, 2025
A high limit switch that keeps tripping on your Breckwell Pellet stove could be due to: * The convection blower overheating. Clean any dust off of the windings and fan blades. * Operating the stove on the highest setting for extended periods. Try operating at a lower heat setting. * Burning fuel other than wood pellets. Use only approved wood pellets. * Power surge or brown out. Check to see if a surge protector is being used on the stove. If not, recommend one to the consumer. * Malfunctioning high limit switch. If the other items check out OK, replace the high limit switch.

Why does my Breckwell SP1002 Pellet stove shut off and the #2 light flashes?
    • A
      Andrew WrightNov 12, 2025
The #2 light flashing on your Breckwell Pellet stove indicates a problem with airflow. This could be due to several reasons: * A blocked airflow switch hose or stove attachment pipes. Try unhooking the air hose from the air switch and blowing through it to clear any blockages. * Blockage in the air inlet, burnpot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe. Follow the cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the owner’s manual. * Improperly sealed firebox. Ensure the door is closed with a good gasket, and the ash door is properly latched. If there is a small hole for ashes, make sure the slider plate is in place. * Incorrectly installed vent pipe. Check the vent pipe installation against the owner’s manual. * Faulty airflow switch wire connecti...

Why does my Breckwell SP1002 Pellet stove feed pellets but will not ignite?
    • C
      Charles CastilloNov 15, 2025
If your Breckwell Pellet stove is feeding pellets but not igniting, consider these potential causes: * Air damper is open too far for ignition. Push the air damper in closer to the side of the stove for startup, or completely close it. After there is a flame, the damper can then be adjusted for the desired feed setting. * Blockage in the igniter tube or inlet. Clear any blockages from the igniter housing and inlet. * The burnpot is not pushed completely to the rear of the firebox. Make sure that the air intake collar on the burnpot is touching the rear wall of the firebox. * The igniter element is bad. Check if the igniter element glows after applying direct power to it. * The control board is not sending power to the igniter. Check the voltage going to the igniter during startu...

What to do if my Breckwell SP1002 Pellet stove will not feed pellets, but the fuel feed light comes on?
    • F
      fsanchezNov 19, 2025
If your Breckwell Pellet stove's fuel feed light is on but it's not feeding pellets, consider these possibilities: * Blown fuse on the control board. Remove the control board and replace any bad fuse with a 5 Amp 125 Volt fuse. * Tripped or defective high limit switch. Wait for the stove to cool, then press the reset button on the back of the High Limit thermodisc. To test if the thermodisc is bad, you can bypass it. * Bad auger motor. Remove the auger motor and try to run the unit. If the motor will not turn, the motor is bad. * Auger jam. Empty the hopper and inspect the auger for obstructions or damage. * Loose wire or connector. Check all wires and connectors related to the auger motor and high limit switch. * Bad control board. If the fuse is good, the wires and connector...

    • C
      Craig RobertsonNov 23, 2025
The #3 light flashing on your Breckwell Pellet stove typically indicates a fuel or component issue. Here are potential causes and solutions: * The hopper is out of pellets. Refill the hopper. * The air damper is too far open for a low feed setting. Close the damper all the way if burning on a low setting. * The burnpot is not pushed completely to the rear of the firebox. Ensure the air intake collar on the burnpot is touching the rear wall of the firebox. * The burnpot holes are blocked. Remove the burnpot and thoroughly clean it. * Partial blockage in the air inlet, interior chambers, or exhaust system. Follow the cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the owner’s manual. * The hopper safety switch has failed or the hopper is open. Ensure the hopper lid is closed a...
