17. Approximately 285 - 295 Ohms should be
measured.
• If resistance is outside of this range,
check for open/shorted wiring or RPM
sensor.
• If resistance is within specifications,
make sure RPM sensor is adjusted
correctly as described below. If RPM
sensor is adjusted correctly and the
engine still does not start, contact

for further engine troubleshooting.
To Adjust RPM Sensor:
1. Remove the RPM sensor (Figure 45,A).

2. Position a flywheel tooth in the center of
the RPM sensor mounting hole.
3. Install RPM sensor and tighten until
sensor lightly touches the flywheel tooth.
4. Unscrew RPM sensor one complete
rotation.
5. While holding sensor in position, tighten
lock nut.
