  If your Briggs & Stratton Portable Generator won't start, here are a few things to check: * Ensure the engine switch is set to the “On” position. * Check for a dirty air cleaner and clean or replace it. * Make sure the fuel tank is filled with gasoline. * If the gasoline is stale, drain the tank and carburetor and fill with fresh fuel. * Confirm the spark plug wire is connected to the spark plug. * Replace the spark plug if it is bad. * If there is water in the gasoline, drain the tank and carburetor and fill with fresh fuel. * If the engine is overchoked or flooded, wait 5 minutes and try re-cranking.
