  If your Briggs & Stratton Portable Generator engine will not start, or starts and runs rough, there are several possible causes: * A missing or blown 15 Amp fuse: Install a new 15 Amp fuse. * A dirty air cleaner: Clean or replace the air cleaner. * Lack of fuel: Open the fuel valve(s) and check the propane tank. * A spark plug wire not connected to the spark plug: Connect the wire to the spark plug. * A bad spark plug: Replace the spark plug. For intake valve issues, engine compression loss, or a failed battery, contact a Briggs & Stratton service facility or replace the battery.
