First, run the 'Brookstone Smart' app on your smartphone.
Proceed to register a new account or log in with an existing one.
Plug in the Smart Plug and hold the button until the indicator light blinks rapidly.
Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for pairing.
In the app, tap the '+' symbol and select 'Smart Plug' from the device list.
Confirm the indicator light is blinking rapidly and press the corresponding button in the app.
Connect your phone to the target Wi-Fi network and enter its password when prompted.
Wait for the connection process to complete without turning off the plug or phone.
Name your device in the app; it is now ready for use.
Click the 'Me' button, then navigate to 'Settings' to manage all device notifications.
Within Settings, you can turn on or off all notifications for connected devices.
From the home screen, tap the device you wish to remove.
Tap the edit symbol located in the top right corner of the screen.
Tap the 'Remove Device' button at the bottom of the screen to complete the action.
Ensure Alexa app is connected to Amazon Echo and works on the same Wi-Fi network.
Log into Alexa app, tap 'More' (bottom right), then select 'Skills & Games'.
Search for 'Brookstone Smart' skill, then tap 'ENABLE TO USE'.
Enter Brookstone Smart app credentials, tap 'Link Now', then 'Authorize' to connect.
Tap 'Close' after linking, then tap 'Discover Devices' to find your Smart Plug.
Wait for Alexa to detect the plug. Follow on-screen instructions to complete setup.
You can now control the Smart Plug using voice commands via the Alexa app.
Use commands like 'Alexa, turn on Smart Plug' or 'Alexa, turn off Smart Plug'.
Pair plug with Brookstone app, download Google Home app and log in.
In the Google Home app, tap the '+' icon in the top left corner.
Tap '+' to add a device, then select 'Set up device'.
On the next page, select 'Set up device', then choose 'Works with Google'.
Press the magnifying glass icon and type 'Brookstone Smart' to find the app to link.
Enter Brookstone Smart app credentials, tap 'Link Now', select the app, and tap 'Link Now' again.
Tap 'Authorize' to link accounts. Choose your Smart Plug from the connected devices and press 'Next'.
Select your home and then choose a room to assign the Smart Plug for organization.
Your device is now linked. Control it via the Google Home app or Google Assistant-enabled speaker.
Use 'Hey Google' followed by commands like 'Turn on/off Living Room' (using your named device).
