What to do if my BROWN 815 is not cutting clean?
    • U
      uturnerAug 2, 2025
If your BROWN Brush Cutter isn't cutting cleanly, the issue might stem from several causes. It could be that the blades are dull, so try sharpening or replacing them. Ensure couplers are firmly attached to provide sufficient hydraulic flow. Check if the cutter deck is level and adjust it if necessary. Reduce your ground speed, and make sure the blades can swing freely by clearing any obstructions.

Why is my BROWN 815 blade life so short?
    • W
      William McknightAug 7, 2025
The short blade life of your BROWN Brush Cutter may be due to several reasons: you might be cutting too low, so try increasing the cutting height. Cutting in sandy or rocky conditions can also reduce blade life, so increase the cutting height in these conditions. Inadequate blades could also be the problem, so replace them with Brown OEM blades.

Why is my BROWN 815 bearing housing overheating?
    • D
      Daniel BowenAug 11, 2025
If the bearing housing of your BROWN Brush Cutter is overheating, possible causes include an insufficient lubricant level (fill to the full level), using an improper lubricant (replace with the correct lubricant), debris build-up around the bearing housing (remove the debris). If these steps don't resolve the issue, consult a dealer.

What to do if my BROWN 815 Brush Cutter has excessive vibration?
    • B
      bgreenAug 17, 2025
If your BROWN Brush Cutter has excessive vibration, it could be due to several reasons: loose bearing housing bolts (tighten the bolts), loose blade bar and/or blade bolts (tighten the blade bar nut or blade bolt nuts), blades not freely swinging (clear the blade of obstruction), broken, bent, or warped blades (replace the set of blades and bolts, install shim between blade bar and bolt), or the blade bar not seated properly on the shaft (remove blade bar; clean hub and shaft; reseat, torque nut).

    • M
      Mackenzie WilliamsAug 22, 2025
If the bearing housing of your BROWN Brush Cutter is leaking, it could be due to a damaged oil seal (replace the seal), a bent shaft (replace the seal and shaft), incorrect oil seal installation (replace the seal), an oil level that's too high (drain oil to the proper level), a shaft that is rough or pitted in the oil seal area (replace the shaft), a worn shaft bore in the casting (replace casting or gearbox), a damaged gasket seat (replace silicone gasket), or loose bolts (tighten the bolts).
