4.2.
INPUT
STAGE
The
input
stage
of
the
2203
is a
fully
transistorized
impedance
con-
verter
built
around
a
low
noise
field-effect
transistor.
The
stage
converts
the
high
input
impedance
to
a
low
output
impedance
which
drives
the
input
amplifier
of
the
2203.
The
low
capacitance
of
the
Condenser
Microphone
necessitates a
high
impedance load
consisting
of
a
high
resistance
(>
1 GO)
to
ensure
good
low
frequency
response and a
low
capacitance
to
ensure
good
sensitiv-
ity. Refer
to
the
Microphone
Instruction
Manual
for
details
on
the
theory
of
input
loading.
4.3.
INPUT
ATTENUATOR
AND
INPUT
AMPLIFIER
The
input
attenuator
follows
the
input
stage
and
has
a
range
from
0
to
60
dB in 1 0 dB steps. The
accuracy
of
the
attenuator
is
better
than
±
0,2
dB
within
the
rated
frequency
range
of
the
instrument.
