Removing the Engine Air Cleaner/Filter
T
o remove the air cleaner/filter for inspection
or replacement:
1. Remove the two push pins.
2. Disassemble the duct.
3. Remove f
our screws, tilt the cover, and slide
it out of the assembly.
4. Inspect or replace the engine air
c
leaner/filter.
5. Lower the cover, slide it into the assembly,
then secure with the screws.

replacement intervals.

arning
Operating the engine with the air cleaner/
f
ilter off can cause you or others to be
burned. The air cleaner not only cleans the
air; it helps to stop flames if the engine
backfires. Use caution when working on
the engine and do not drive with the air
cleaner/filter off.
Caution
If the air cleaner/filter is off, dirt can easily
g
et into the engine, which could damage it.
Always have the air cleaner/filter in place
when driving.
