1.6 How safety instructions are displayed
In this document safety instructions precede any sequence of actions
that could cause harm to persons or damage to property. All hazard
prevention measures must be followed. Safety instructions are displayed
as follows:
SIGNAL WORD!
Source of hazard (e.g. electric shock)
Type of hazard (e.g. risk of fatal injury)!
► Escape or prevent hazard
► Rescue measure (optional)
Signal word / colour Indicates the severity of the hazard
Warning symbol Calls attention to the hazard
Source / type of hazard Indicates the type and the source of the
hazard
Consequences Explains the consequences of not following
the safety instructions
Hazard prevention
measure
Explains how to avoid the hazard
Signal word Colour Severity of the hazard
DANGER High-risk hazard.
Indicates a hazardous situation which,
if not avoided, will result in death or serious
injury.
WARNING Hazard with a moderate degree of risk.
Indicates a hazardous situation which,
if not avoided, could result in death or
serious injury.
CAUTION Low-risk hazard.
Indicates a hazardous situation which, if
not avoided, may result in minor or mode-
rate injury.
1.7 Product-specic safety instructions
When the ozone generation system is running, the high voltage com-
ponents in the unit are live. The high voltage supply is automatically
switchedowhenthecabinetisopened.
DANGER!
High voltage
Risk of death by electric shock!
►Disconnect the system power supply before all
maintenance repair work.
►There may still be voltage from external
connections even when the mains voltage is
disconnected.
►Discharge live components through earthing.
Ozone is an irritant gas with a pungent odour. If it escapes within the
installation space, press the emergency stop switch immediately or
switchotheozonegenerationintheunit.Thereisstillamainsvoltage

DANGER!
Ozone
Risk of death from inhalation!
► Shut down the unit in the event of a warning.
►Leave the operating room.
►Use protective respiratory equipment.
When working on ozone generation units, please ensure that the general
rules and regulations for operating high voltage systems, the EC safety
data sheet for ozone, the regulations for the use of ozone in water
treatment (German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) rule 103-001 of
BG gas water) and the accident prevention regulations for ozone are
complied with.
The ozone concentrations in the ozone-air mixture may be hazardous
to humans if allowed to escape into the room where the unit is installed.
Safety precautions must be taken to ensure that ozone is not inhaled.
The MWC value for ozone for ozone in ambient air is 200 µg/m³
(=0.1ppm,MWC=maximumworkspaceconcentration).See:Leaet
M052 “Ozone” BGI 745, published by BG Chemie.
Roomswhichcouldbeaectedbyozoneleaksifafaultoccursmust

warning systems, which stop the ozone generation unit when actuated.
Emergency stop buttons, labelled as such, must also be installed in easily
accessible, hazard-free places near all doors of the ozone room. See:
“Directives for the use of ozone for water treatment, DGUV-R 103-001”.
These devices must be checked regularly as part of the maintenance
process to ensure that they function properly.

In underpressure units, the gas used/ozone in the whole gas compart-
ment up to the ozone/water mixing device is under a pressure that is
lower than the air pressure of the surrounding installation area. It is

compartment into the installation area air.
During dryer regeneration, hot air at a temperature of up to 200 °C (see
Technicalspecications) escapes ontheleftsideofthecabinetand/
or from the top.
WARNING!
Hot exhaust air (200°C)
Burn hazard!
►Keep your distance
►Do not install heat-sensitive objects, electrical
lines, or water lines directly above the unit
