5 Installation conditions
5.1 Unit safety
A safety assessment was performed in accordance with EN ISO 13849
for the operation of Bewazon VULW series ozone devices. A performance
level PLr, category “C”, is required for ozone device operation. This is
achieved by safeguarding plant operation by implementing an ozone
gas detector and an emergency stop switch. The ozone gas detector is
to be maintained according to information provided by the manufacturer
to ensure operational safety. The emergency stop switch must have
an MTTFd value
1)
of at least 30 years. When the unit is operated as
intended, the required performance level PL, category “C”, is achieved
with this on-site protective circuit.
1) MTTFd = Mean Time to dangerous Failure, i.e., the mean time
until a dangerous failure as per EN ISO 13849.
5.2 Installation location
The plant is operated with atmospheric air. The air pressure required
limits the maximum permissible installation altitude to 1000 m above
sea level.
Ambient conditions
NOTE
Theinstallationsitemustfullthefollowing
requirements:
Ambient temperature
Relative humidity
Maximum humidity
For the values, see “Technical data”
The concentrations of aggressive gases in the ambient air must not
exceed the listed thresholds:
Carbon dioxide CO
2
500 ppm = 900 mg/m
3
Hydrogen sulphide H
2
S 0.1 ppm = 0.15 mg/m
3
Hydrochloric acid HCl 0.05 ppm = 0.07 mg/m
3
Chlorine Cl
2
0.05 ppm = 0.13 mg/m
3
Bromine Br
2
0.01 ppm = 0.07 mg/m
3
Dust concentration in air Max. 2.5 mg/m

If other gases are expected in the ambient air, tests must be made to
determine whether the ozone system can be installed.
5.3 Room ventilation
Theroommustbesu󰀩cientlyventilated,asveryhotandmoistairenters
the room during regeneration, whereas cool and dry air is required to
operate the unit.
The regeneration blower operation dry contact can be used to increase
the room ventilation in a targeted way while operating the regeneration
blower.
If the unit is to be installed in a large machine room containing the entire
water treatment unit, it is usually not necessary to take additional room
ventilation measures if the requirements for room temperature and
humidityspeciedinthetechnicaldataaremet.
5.4 Transport and unloading
The ozone cabinets are delivered in individual cabinets. They must
remain vertical during transport.
Door widths of at least 900 mm and door heights of at least 2500 mm
arerequiredforverticalunloadingatthenaldestination.Thecabinets
maybecarefullytiltedfordoorwaysthatarelowerthanspecied.
Cabinets with ozone tubes must not be placed in a horizontal position.
The cabinets have lifting lugs. See the drawing for use.
max. 45°
90°
Always use all 4 lifting lugs.
