Heat is released by the corona discharge. The heat is dissipated by
cooling water. The condition of the cooling water is not changed, other
than an increase in the temperature. Thecoolingwaterowismeasured
and monitored by the unit, which displays the current value.
When the releaseor activation signal for ozone generation is cancelled,
the unit performs an air purge phase. The post-operation purge clears
the ozone from the ozone tubes and, depending on the duration, from
the downstream components as well. The duration of the purge phases
can be set from 0 to 15 minutes using the TP.
The ozone production capacity is adjustable in 16 levels. There are four
operating modes for the adjustment: Panel, proportional controller, PID
controller, data bus.
1. Panel: Manually directly from the TP as a stage from 0 to 16.
2. Proportional controller (P/PID controller option): The ozone level is
set proportionally to an external 4 to 20 mA signal. For example,
thesignalcancomefromtheowmeterofawaterowintowhich
the ozone is to be mixed. This operating mode facilitates ozone
metering with the addition of a virtually constant amount per m
3
of
waterregardlessofthewaterowvolumeandthatreactsquickly
tochangesinthewaterow.
3. PID controller: The ozone level is set by the internal PID controller
in accordance with an external 4 to 20 mA measurement signal.
The controller sets the ozone level so that the measurement signal,
which corresponds to the current ozone concentration in the water,
for example, is aligned with a nominal value set by the operator. This
operating mode facilitates ozone metering which keeps the ozone
concentrationinthewatervirtuallyconstant,regardlessoftheow
volume and ozone consumption of the water. Ozone metering reacts
relativelyslowlytotheowandtheozoneconsumptioninthewater.
4. Databus(Pronet/Probusoption):Theozonelevelissetexternally
using the data bus. The available data bus connections are:
a)Pronetwithdataexchangeusing“Put/Get”commands
b)Pronetwiththeintegrationoftheozonedeviceintotheexternal
controlsystemusinga“GSD”le
c)Probus DP with the integration of the ozone device into the

Multi-circuit units (special design)
If ozone is required for multiple ozone applications that are independent
of each other, these ozone applications can be supplied by a multi-circuit
unit. A multi-circuit unit is an ozone device with a special design that
has ONE air dryer and up to FOUR ozone circuits that can be controlled
independently of each other with a total capacity of 700 g/h.
Tropical version (special design)
To use the ozone devices in countries with very high humidity (for ex-
ample, in tropical countries) the units can be equipped with double the
dryer capacity. The units can then be used in air humidity of up to 40 g/
Nm
3
(corresponds to approx. 60% relative humidity at 40°C) and with a
higher cooling water temperature of up to 30°C.
Bewazon Therm cooling water loop (optional)
Using the cooling water loop ensures that the level of cooling water
consumption corresponds to the requirements. The cooling water is no
longer guided through the unit in a simple cycle. Instead, it is repeatedly
guided through the unit in a circuit with a small storage container until
its temperature reaches a maximum level of 25°C.
If the ozone device is activated, cooling water is requested and the
cooling water loop is also activated. The temperature of the water is
monitored by a thermostat in the circuit.
When the temperature limit is reached, the heated cooling water is repla-
ced with fresh cold water while the ozone device continues to run. The
heated water can be used again by feeding it into the splash water tank
(untreated water storage tank), for example, when changing the water.
The cooling water loop unit is installed next to the ozone device and
controlled and monitored by the ozone device PLC.
