Why are there suds in my Cafe CDT800?

  Suds in your Café dishwasher tub usually indicate the wrong detergent was used. Use only high-quality automatic dishwasher detergents like Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent. If suds are present, open the dishwasher and let them dissipate. Then, open the door, press and hold Start for 3 seconds, and close the door. Also, be careful not to spill rinse agent and always wipe up any spills immediately.

  The beeping at the end of the cycle on some Cafe dishwasher models is normal. To turn off the double beep indicator (or re-activate it if it was previously turned off), press the Dry pad 5 times within 3 seconds. A triple beep will sound to indicate the end-of-cycle beep option has been turned on or off.

Reposition the dishes so the water from the lower spray arm can flush the detergent cup. Reposition the tall utensils or heavy silverware that may be keeping the dispenser cup door from opening.   If the control panel responds to inputs but your Cafe dishwasher never fills with water, check the following: * Ensure the door is firmly closed. * Make sure the water valve (usually located under the sink) is turned on. * The flood float may be stuck. Remove the Ultra-Fine filter and lightly tap the piece under the ultra fine filter that looks like a salt shaker. Replace the filter.

Café recommends using high-quality rinse agents such as Cascade® Platinum™ Power Dry™ Rinse Aid or Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid to help prevent these deposits. To remove existing mineral deposits, run the dishwasher with citric acid (Part number: WD35X151, order through GE Appliances Parts) or use Cascade® Platinum™ Dishwasher Cleaner or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner, following the label directions.
