Set the saddle so that it is horizontal or slightly
tilted forward. If the saddle is tilted too far for‑
ward you cannot pedal relaxed. You will constant‑
ly support yourself on the handlebars to prevent
yourself from slipping o the saddle.
Aer fastening the saddle, check whether it re‑
sists tilting by bringing your weight to bear on it
once with your hands at either end of the saddle.
The handlebar height and the stem length deter‑
mine the forward inclination of the upper body.
The lower the handlebar position and/or the big‑
ger the distance between saddle and handlebars,
the more inclined the upper body.
This means a more streamlined position for the
rider and more weight to bear on the front wheel,
but the strongly inclined position is more stren‑
uous and uncomfortable, as the strain on wrists,
arms, upper body and neck increase.
Use a torque wrench with bits and nev‑
er exceed the maximum torque values!
Never ride if the seat post has been
pulled out beyond the MAX marking or if
the saddle is clamped outside the clamping
range! The seat post or the saddle rails could
brake or suer damage. Risk of a fall!
Check the bolts by using a torque
wrench once a month according to the
values indicated in the chapter “Recommended
torque values”in your bicycle manual road bike.
ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT OF THE HANDLEBARS EXTENSIONS AND ARMRESTS
Wind tunnel tests have proved that the
lowest position is not always the fastest
position. If you need help with the setting/nd‑
ing the best seating position, contact a bike
tting provider, if necessary.
