The following phraseology will normally be used by pilots to indicate an intent
to utilise an arrestor system at short notice:
ATC will alert the Crash/Rescue crews.
Requests for information on arrestor systems and/or to change the status of an
arrestor system:
Rider 1, final, gear down Rider 1, cleared to land, approach
cable down, overrun cable up,
barrier up
Cleared to land, Rider 1
Rider 1, barrier, barrier, barrier Rider 1, barrier up
Rider 1, cable, cable, cable Rider 1, overrun cable up
Rider 1, request barrier state Rider 1, barrier down
Rider 1, request raise the barrier
Rider 1, barrier up
