Function Description
The Caple slot-in wine cabinet is designed for storing and chilling wine bottles. It features two independent temperature zones, allowing for optimal storage of different types of wine. The appliance is intended for household and similar applications, including farmhouses, residential environments, bed and breakfast establishments, and non-retail applications. It is equipped with an "Auto-cycle" defrost system and a humidity system to maintain ideal storage conditions.

Usage Features
- Temperature Control:
- The control panel features separate buttons for adjusting the temperature in the upper and lower compartments.
- Pressing the temperature adjustment button enters setup mode, and each press decreases the temperature by 1 degree.
- The LED display shows the set temperature, and temporarily flashes the actual cabinet temperature when the adjustment button is held for approximately 5 seconds.
- Interior Light:
- The LED interior light can be switched ON/OFF using a dedicated button.
- To conserve energy, the light automatically switches off after 10 minutes.
- The light can be set to remain on continuously by pressing and holding the "LIGHT" button for 5 seconds until "LP" is displayed. To revert to energy-saving mode, press and hold the "LIGHT" button for 5 seconds until "LF" is displayed.
- Shelves:
- Shelves are designed to prevent bottles from falling, with a notch on each side of the shelf tracks.
- For easy access, shelves can be pulled out approximately 1/3 of the way.
- To remove or install shelves, tilt them as per the diagram and pull/push securely onto the support brackets.
- Ensure the door is fully open when pulling shelves out to prevent damage to the door gasket.
- Door Reversibility: The door can be reversed from right-hand to left-hand opening using the provided hinge kit and following the detailed instructions in the manual.
- Humidity System: A small plastic reservoir on the top shelf can be filled 3/4 full with water to maintain the correct humidity level if it is too low.
- Recommended Storage and Drinking Temperatures: The manual provides a comprehensive list of recommended storage temperatures for all wine types (12-14°C) and specific drinking temperatures for various wines (e.g., Champagne NV at 6°C, Vintage Pinot Noir red at 18°C).
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning:
- Interior: Turn off power, unplug, remove items. Wash surfaces with a warm water and baking soda solution (2 tablespoons baking soda to 2 pints water). Wash shelves with mild detergent. Wring excess water from sponge/cloth when cleaning near controls or electrical parts.
- Exterior: Wash with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry.
- Defrosting: The appliance has an "Auto-cycle" defrost system. Defrosted water drains into a pan at the back of the cabinet and evaporates.
- Vacation Care:
- Short Vacations (less than three weeks): Leave the wine cabinet operating.
- Long Vacations (several months): Remove all items, turn off the appliance, clean and dry the interior thoroughly to prevent odour and mould. Leave the door slightly ajar.
- Moving the Wine Cabinet:
- Remove all items.
- Securely tape down loose items (shelves).
- Wind adjustable legs up to the base.
- Tape the door shut.
- Ensure the appliance remains upright and protect the exterior with a blanket or similar item.
- Installation and Leveling:
- Place the cabinet on a strong, level floor.
- Adjust the front levelling leg at the bottom of the cabinet to ensure it is level.
- Foot sliders are provided for adjusting height over 820mm and preventing feet from catching on the floor when sliding the appliance into the aperture.
- A top fixing bracket is provided to secure the cabinet to the work surface/kitchen cabinet.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a guide to common problems and their possible causes, such as the cabinet not operating, not being cold enough, compressor cycling frequently, light not working, vibrations, excessive noise, and the door not closing properly.
