2.2 Enabling boss for web access
boss pages can be viewed by remote user via a simple Internet connection with Browser and the static IP
assigned by the machine where boss is installed.
1. Go to System Administration à Network
con guration à LAN.
2. Provide the information required..
Open port 443 for HTTPS access in the network
Firewall.
3. Go to System Administration à Power à Reboot.
4. Wait for boss to restart.
5. Enter the machine’s static IP followed by the boss
folder in the Internet browser address bar on any
PC in the network
6. boss allows access in the internal network without
having IP, but only typing the URL:
- for boss --> https://boss-xxxx
- for boss-mini--> https://mboss-xxxx
where “xxxx” identify the last 4 digits of the MAC
address.
2.3 Protecting system functions and user administration
Note: System accounts are only required to access the functions indicated above. To set program
accounts, i.e. to set user permissions for boss users, see User con guration.
1. Under System Administration à password:
passwords and privileges confi gured previously can
be managed or modifi ed.
