Functions
Comfort Monitor (Automatic Operation) - During Comfort Monitor mode, the system automatically switches
between cooling and heating modes to maintain the desired setpoint. When the system is first started, fan
speed may automatically adjust to bring the cab temperature to setpoint faster than it would using the
selected fan speed. Depending on unit configuration, the APU engine may start/stop automatically
when setpoint is reached while operating in this mode.
Cooling, Heating, and Fan (Manual Operation) - When the system is operated in manual cooling,
heating, or fan only modes, the driver can adjust the temperature and fan speed to their preference. The
system will remain in the selected mode of operation cycling on and off to maintain cab temperature.
Temp Start - Automatically turns the APU on when the APU coolant temperature falls below a
programmed value. This function warms the APU and tractor engine to assist with cold starting.
During temp start operation the CCU runs in Comfort mode with the engine continuously on to warm up
faster and maintain comfort inside the cab. After the timer expires the power unit and CCU are turned off.
Battery Monitor - Starts the APU when the truck battery voltage has dropped below a set voltage.
The APU alternator charges the tractor batteries resulting in improved engine starting. This function
also provides a “limp home” for the truck in the event of a truck alternator malfunction. The APU engine
may run at the same time as the tractor when the Battery Monitor function is active.
Maximum Runtime - Limits the maximum amount of time that the APU can run at one time. The
maximum runtime can be reset by restarting the APU. Limiting runtime saves fuel and maintenance costs.
