SAFETYREGULATIONS
•
Therefrigerantmustbehandledwithgreatcareinordertoavoidpersonalinjury;alwaysusesafetygogglesand
gloves.
•
Liquidrefrigerantcancausefreezingoftheskinandseriousdamagetotheeyes,sometimesresultinginpermanent
blindness.
•
Keeptherefrigerantcontainerawayfromheatsources.Heatwillcauseanincreaseinpressureoftherefrigerant
andcouldcausethecontainertoexplode.
•
Ifrefrigerantcomesintocontactwithanakedameorahotmetalsurfaceitproducesatoxicgas,whichisdanger-
ousifinhaled.
•
Inordertoavoidaccidentsfollowthesimpleprecautionsdescribedbelow.
•
Theoperationofemptyingandchargingthesystemmustbecarriedoutinawell-ventilatedarea,wellawayfrom
anynakedames.
•
Duringthechargingandemptyingoperations,takethenecessaryprecautionstoprotectthefaceandaboveallthe
eyesfromaccidentalcontactwithrefrigerant.
•
Intheeventofanaccident,proceedasfollows:
-ifrefrigerantsplashesintotheeyes,washimmediatelywithafewdropsofmineraloil,thenwashthemthoroughly
withasolutionofboricacidandwater(onespoonfulofacidin1/4cupofwater)andseekmedicalassistance
immediately.
-freezingoftheskincausedbycontactwithliquidrefrigerantmaybetreatedbygraduallywarmingtheinjuredarea
withcoldwater,followedbytheapplicationofagreasycream.Requestmedicalassistance.
-theairconditioningsystemcontainsamixtureofrefrigerantandoilunderhighpressure;undernocircumstances
loosenpipettings/unionsorworkonthepipeswithouthavingrstdrainedthesystem.
-donotloosenorremovethecompressoroillevelcheckcapwiththesystempressurized.
-donotheattherefrigerantcontainer.Ifthetemperatureexceeds50°C(122.00°F)thepressurewillincreasevery
rapidly.
-keeptheairconditioningsystemawayfromheatsourcestopreventexplosionsasaresultofanincreasein
pressureinthesystempiping.
•
Whentransferringrefrigerantfromonecontainertoanother,onlyusehomologatedliquidrefrigerantcontainers
equippedwithsafetyvalves.
•
Neverllliquidrefrigerantcontainersover80%(80.0%)oftheirmaximumcapacity.
•
Donotmodifythesettingsofsafetyvalvesandthecontroldevices.
•
Neverconnecttherecovery/recyclingandevacuation/chargingstationstoelectricalpoweroutletswithvoltages
otherthanthosespecied;donotleavethestationspoweredupunlesstheyaretobeusedimmediately.
