3. Disconnect the rod end of the cylinder from the lift
links by removing the cotter pin and sliding out the
shoulder pin, 1. Remove the cutter bar lift stop
channel, 2, and set it aside. Pull the complete
piston rod assembly out of the cylinder barrel, and
let the cylinder barrel hang from its mount.
NOTICE: All O-rings and seals should be replaced,
as they will be damaged during disassembly.
4. Clamp the end of the piston rod, 1, in a vise, and
remove rod nut, 2. Slide the piston, 3, and the
cylinder head, 4, off the cylinder rod.
Inspection
1. Examine the parts for wear or nicks. Remove any
burrs inside the cylinder using emery cloth.
2. Remove all seals, carefully noting the lip position
on the seals.
