8. Install a three jaw puller to pull on the sheave
inner hub; thread a 3/8 inch x 1 inch cap screw, 1,
back into the end of the shaft, or position a shaft
protector to protect the end of the shaft. Pull the
sheave off the jack shaft.
9. Thoroughly clean the end of the jack shaft using
emery cloth. Leave the cap screw, 1, Figure 36,
installed in the end of the jackshaft, and use a
hammer to drive the jackshaft forward out of the
rear bearing; the front bearing, 1, will be driven
out of the housing, 2, at the same time.
10. Remove the rear snap ring, 1, and use a long
punch to drive the rear bearing, 2, out of the
housing.
