Reassembly
Clean and inspect all parts. Replace bearings if any
pitting or brinelling of bearing cup or cone is noticed.
Inspect shafts for excessive wear or damage to
splined surfaces, and for damage on bearing
shoulders. Check gear teeth for chipping or cracks,
and the mating splined bores for wear. Replace any
damaged parts. Thoroughly clean all sealant residue
off the bottom surface of the gearbox housing and the
cover mounting surfaces.
