The keyboard is now split in the center, at the point shown in the illustration above.
To change the location of the split point
1.
While
holding
down
the
SPLIT
button,
press
the
keyboard
key
where
you
want
the
far
left
key
of
the
high
end
to
be.
* The note number is shown on the display while the SPLIT

The keyboard is now split to the left of the keyboard key you pressed in the above procedure.
important!
The SPLIT button cannot be used during play along with demo tunes, Magical Preset or while
recording to Song Memory.
To unsplit the keyboard
Simply press the SPLIT button so that the SPLIT indicator goes out.

Layer makes it possible to play two different tones at the same time by pressing a single key.
To layer tones
1. Use the procedure under “To change a Mixer parameter’ to assign the tones ny
you want to layer to CH1 (UPPER1) and CH2 (UPPER2)
* Asan example, we will assign STUDIO PIANO (tone number 002) to CH1 U Us,
(UPPER1) and SYNTH-STR2 (tone number 051) to CH2 (UPPER2). i is 1

2. Press the LAYER button.
* When you do the LAYER indicator lights.
ihe * Check to make sure that the indicators for the parts that you want to sound are
CO we lit above buttons CH1 (UPPER1) through CH4 (LOWER2). A part is not sound-
ing if the indicator above its button is off. Press the button to turn the indicator on
and to make the part sound.
Now when you play any keyboard key, both tones that you assigned in the above procedure sound.
