Overview

The CATLINK AI Cat Litter Box Scooper Pro - X is an intelligent automatic litter box designed to simplify cat care and enhance the lives of pet owners. This device offers a range of features aimed at providing a clean and safe environment for cats while offering convenience and control to their owners through smart technology.

Function Description

The core function of the Scooper Pro - X is automated litter cleaning. It utilizes a rotating globe mechanism to sift through cat litter, separating waste from clean litter and depositing the waste into a sealed drawer. This process is initiated automatically when a cat leaves the litter box, after a default waiting period of 5 minutes (which can be adjusted via the companion app).

The device supports various operational modes:

  • Auto Mode: In this default mode, the litter box automatically cleans 5 minutes after the cat exits the globe.
  • Manual Mode: This mode allows users to manually start and pause the cleaning cycle, providing direct control over the device.
  • Timer Mode: Once successfully connected to Wi-Fi, users can set specific times for regular cleaning through the CATLINK app.
  • Empty Mode: This mode facilitates the complete emptying of cat litter from the globe, which is useful for deep cleaning or changing litter types.

The Scooper Pro - X is designed to work with clumping litter or mixed litter, with a recommendation for high-quality, clay-clumping litter. It is important to avoid strictly absorbent, non-clumping, loose-clumping, paper-based, or wood-based pellet litters to ensure proper functionality.

Usage Features

The Scooper Pro - X is equipped with a control panel featuring several indicators and buttons for easy operation:

  • Error Indicator: Alerts users to operational issues.
  • WIFI Indicator: Shows the status of the Wi-Fi connection (not connected, connected, or pairing).
  • Panel Lock Indicator: Indicates if the control panel is locked to prevent accidental presses.
  • Auto Mode Indicator: Lights up when the device is in Auto Mode.
  • Timer Mode Indicator: Lights up when the device is in Timer Mode.
  • Clean/Pause Button: Initiates a cleaning cycle or pauses an ongoing one.
  • Manual Mode Indicator: Lights up when the device is in Manual Mode.
  • Empty Mode Indicator: Lights up when the device is in Empty Mode.
  • Mode Button: Allows switching between different cleaning modes.

For smart control, the device connects to the CATLINK app via Wi-Fi. The app allows users to:

  • Monitor the device's status.
  • Adjust the "Wait Time" in Auto Mode.
  • Set cleaning schedules in Timer Mode.
  • Turn the Panel Lock function on or off remotely.
  • Receive notifications regarding the device's operation, such as a full waste drawer.

Safety is a paramount feature, with multiple protection mechanisms integrated into the device:

  • Radar Protection (Level 1): If a moving object enters the globe during rotation, the radar sensor triggers a stop. The globe resumes rotation once the object leaves.
  • Weighing Protection (Level 2): If an object weighing over 3.3 lbs enters the globe during rotation, the weighing sensor stops the rotation. The globe resumes once the object leaves.
  • Anti-pinch Protection (Level 3): If the anti-pinch device is triggered when the litter outlet faces downwards during rotation, the globe will maximize the litter outlet space and stop. This requires human intervention to reset.
  • Motor Stalled Protection (Level 4): If the motor resistance significantly increases during rotation, the globe stops. This also requires human intervention to reset.

The device also includes a night light for visibility in low-light conditions and UV sterilization for enhanced hygiene in some models.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of the Scooper Pro - X. The design facilitates easy cleaning and part replacement:

Replacing Cat Litter:

  1. Switch to Empty Mode using the Mode button.
  2. Press the Clean/Pause button to rotate the globe clockwise, emptying all litter into the waste drawer.
  3. Once empty, press Clean/Pause again to return the globe to its original position.
  4. Remove the waste drawer, seal and discard the waste, replace the trash liner, and push the drawer back.
  5. Add new cat litter up to the MAX mark and run a cleaning cycle to smooth the litter.

Cleaning and Attentions:

  1. Power Off: Always unplug the unit before any servicing or cleaning.
  2. Top Cover Removal: For luxury models, disconnect the connecting wire before removing the top cover.
  3. Globe Removal: Carefully remove the globe, paying attention to the support rod of the rotating shaft at the back.
  4. Waste Drawer and Carbon Filter: Remove the waste drawer. The carbon filter, located in the waste box, should be taken out monthly and exposed to sunlight, then replaced every two months.
  5. Washing Components: The globe and waste drawer can be washed directly. Ensure they are thoroughly wiped and dried before reassembly.
  6. Wiping Components: The top cover and base, containing electronic parts, should only be wiped with wet wipes and not washed directly.
  7. Reassembly: After cleaning, install a new carbon filter (if needed) and reassemble the device by following the reverse steps of disassembly.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides solutions for common issues:

  • Stop operation due to radar/weighing protection or full waste drawer: Manually cancel by pressing the Clean/Pause button.
  • Stop operation due to anti-pinch: Manually cancel by pressing the Clean/Pause button.
  • Inaccurate cat litter amount: This requires a "Reset cat litter to ZERO" calibration process:
    1. Empty all cat litter from the globe.
    2. Long press the Mode Switch button until two beeps are heard, then release. The Manual Mode indicator and Mode Switch button indicator will flash.
    3. Immediately long press the Mode Switch button again until two beeps are heard, then release. This completes the operation.
  • Inaccurate weighing data: This requires a "Weighing calibration" process:
    1. Prepare a reference object (e.g., 3.3 lbs item or 3 bottles of 16.9 fl oz water).
    2. Power off and restart the device.
    3. Once the globe starts rotating, place the 3.3 lbs item into the globe.
    4. Long press the Mode Switch button until two beeps are heard, then release. The Mode Switch indicator will flash.
    5. The calibration is complete when the Mode Switch button indicator is solid on and a beep sounds.
