5. Headphone output
This player is equipped with one singled ended and one balanced headphone output.
This should cover a wide range of earphone and headphones in the market.
1) Singled-Ended Headphones: N8 provides a 3.5mm TRS headphone connector for
single-end earphone/headphone; it can also playback with all TRRS single-ended
earphone/headphones with mic .
2) Balanced Headphones: N8 provides a 4.4mm TRRRS headphone connector for
balanced earphone/headphone.
3) Cayin has provided a 4.4mm to 2.5mm balanced headphone adapter. If you are using
a 2.5mm TRRS terminated balanced earphone/headphone, you can plug it into the
2.5mm female connector of the adapter and gain access to the balanced headphone
output of N8
Note:
t N8’s 4.4mm balanced connector is shared between headphone output and line
output, when you plug a balanced headphone into the connector, you have to set the
4.4mm output to PO (Phone Out) from the pull down menu (drag out from top of
screen)
t The volume control will take effective when you are using the headphone output of
N8.
t The pin definition of 4.4mm TRRRS balanced connector is as follow. It is important
not to create a short circuit between the L+, L-, R+ and R-, this might cause serious
damage to the player. The Ground connection must not be short circuit as well.
6. Line output
This player is equipped with one singled ended and one balanced line output (shared with
headphone output), you can connect the line out of N8 to an outboard amplifier. You need
an appropriate analogue audio interconnect with reference to the input of your amplifier.
