  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always inspect the meter and test leads for damage before use.
    • Never ground yourself during measurements.
    • Avoid touching exposed metal parts at ground potential.
    • Turn off power to the circuit before making current measurements.
    • Exercise caution when working with voltages above 60V dc or 30V ac rms.
    • Keep fingers behind probe guards.
    • Do not exceed the meter's voltage or current limits.
    • Always turn the function switch to the OFF position when not in use.
    • "OL" indicates an over-range condition, requiring a higher range selection.
    • For current measurements on the 10A scale, do not exceed 30 seconds to prevent damage.
    • Disconnect power and discharge capacitors before resistance or capacitance measurements.
    • Do not measure continuity or test diodes on circuits with voltage.
    • Ensure the thermocouple is removed before changing measurement functions.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: The "BAT" symbol indicates a low battery. The battery door is secured by a screw and requires a Phillips head screwdriver to open. Always disconnect test leads before opening the battery door.
  • Fuse Replacement: Fuses are located behind the battery door. Always disconnect test leads and power before opening the fuse door. Use a 10A/250V fast blow fuse for the 10A range. Ensure the fuse door is securely fastened before operating the meter.
