P. No Bearing Reporting Test:
(1) Shield the top directional antenna from the test antenna with echo-sorb (signal absorbing
material)ore
quivalent and the nose landing gear logic must be DOWN (TA's appear as NO
BEARING targets when gear logic is DOWN because the bottom antenna is in omni directional
mode). Make sure of this on the MFD/PFD.
Q. Mode S Addres
sTest:
(1) From the main menu screen select “I/O DATA” from the top menu. Then select “SNAPSHOT
VIEW”. Find “Aircraft (Mode S) Address:” and make sure that the address is correct.
R. Remove all te
st equipment and restore aircraft wiring/connectors to their original condition.
13. Do a flight deck electromagnetic interference (EMI) survey to make sure that there is no significant
conducted or radiated interference by the Mode S transponder or the TCAS system.
NOTE: Before accom
plishing this test, make sure that the transponder and TCAS systems are operating
as they would be while airborne.
A. On each crew audio selector, evaluate quality audio from each radio listed below.
B. Test ADF, com
munication and navigation radios on at least one low, high, and mid-band frequency
when possible.
C. Make sure that there is no interference with the systems listed below.
