Why won't my Challenge GY6000 Paper Shredder motor start?

      Miss Amanda GriffinAug 2, 2025
If the Challenge Paper Shredder motor won't start, first, ensure the shredder is properly connected to a working power source by checking the socket, cable, lead, and plug for any damage. If damage is found, have it repaired by qualified personnel. Also, check if the overload protection has tripped; if so, wait for the motor to cool down, then press the Reset button to restart the unit. Lastly, make sure the lid of the housing is tightly screwed in.

      Jordan MartinezAug 16, 2025
If garden waste is not being drawn into your Challenge Paper Shredder, it may be because the shredding material is too soft. Try using the pusher or adding dry twigs/branches. Also, the unit may be blocked, refer to section 'Clearing a Blockage'. Finally, check for shredding material in the discharge duct and remove it.
