Why is there a sudden drop in gas flow in my Char-Broil Grill?
    • C
      Charles SmithAug 15, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame in your Char-Broil Grill can be caused by several factors. First, check if you are out of gas in the LP cylinder. If not, the excess flow valve may have tripped; in this case, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If flames are still low, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, perform a leak test, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. Another potential cause is a vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection; turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

What to do if the flames blow out on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • M
      Mary CombsAug 18, 2025
If the flames on your Char-Broil Grill blow out, it could be due to high or gusting winds. Try turning the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height by turning the gas valve to a higher position. It could also be because you are low on LP gas, so refill the LP cylinder. Finally, the excess flow valve might have tripped. Refer to the "Sudden drop in gas flow" instructions to resolve this.

Why won't one burner light from other burners on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • J
      Joseph CrosbyAug 21, 2025
If one burner does not light from the other burners on your Char-Broil Grill, it's likely due to grease buildup or food particles in the end(s) of the carryover tube(s). Clean the carry-over tube(s) with a wire brush to resolve this issue.

What to do if no sparks appear at any electrodes when Electronic Ignition Button is pressed on my Char-Broil Grill, but noise can be heard from spark module?
    • D
      Donald OliverAug 26, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed on your Char-Broil Grill, but noise can be heard from the spark module, the output lead connections may not be connected. Remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes.

    • J
      Jose MccoyAug 28, 2025
If sparks are present but not at all electrodes and/or not at full strength on your Char-Broil Grill, check the following: * Ensure output lead connections are connected by removing and reconnecting all output connections at the module and electrodes. * Look for arcing to the grill away from the burner(s), observing the grill in a dark location while operating the ignition system to check for arcing between output wires and the grill frame. * Replace the battery with a new alkaline battery if it is weak. * Remove moisture from the electrodes with a paper towel if they are wet. * Replace cracked or broken electrodes if they are damaged.

What to do if I have a flare-up on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • B
      Brett LandrySep 1, 2025
Flare-ups on your Char-Broil Grill can occur due to grease buildup, excessive fat in the meat, or excessive cooking temperature. To resolve this, clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Also, trim fat from the meat before grilling. Finally, adjust the cooking temperature accordingly by lowering it.

What to do if I have a persistent grease fire in my Char-Broil Grill?
    • R
      rfreemanSep 4, 2025
If you experience a persistent grease fire in your Char-Broil Grill, it's likely due to grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. Turn the knobs to OFF and turn the gas off at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

If no sparks appear at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed and no noise can be heard from the spark module on your Char-Broil Grill, check the following: 1. Ensure the battery is installed properly, making sure that “+” and “–” connectors are oriented correctly, with “+” on the cap end. 2. Replace the battery with a new alkaline battery if the current one is dead. 3. Unscrew and reinstall the button cap assembly, ensuring the threads are aligned and engaged fully. 4. Replace the spark module assembly if it is faulty.
