How to stop flare-ups on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • S
      Susan WalterAug 14, 2025
Flare-ups on your Char-Broil grill can occur due to grease buildup, excessive fat in the meat, or excessive cooking temperature. To resolve this, clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Trim fat from meat before grilling. Also, adjust the cooking temperature to a lower setting.

What to do if the flames blow out on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • L
      Lisa WhiteAug 18, 2025
If the flames on your Char-Broil grill are blowing out, it could be due to high or gusting winds, in which case you should turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height by turning the gas valve to a higher position. It could also be because you are low on LP gas, so refill the LP cylinder. Another possibility is that the excess flow valve tripped; refer to the troubleshooting steps for a sudden drop in gas flow.

What causes flashback in my Char-Broil Grill burner tubes?
    • B
      Brianna CampbellAug 21, 2025
Flashback, or fire in the burner tubes of your Char-Broil grill, is usually caused by blocked burners and/or burner tubes. To resolve this, turn the knobs to OFF and clean the burner and/or burner tubes. Consult the burner cleaning section of the Use and Care guide for detailed instructions.

Why is my Char-Broil Grill not sparking?
    • K
      Kathy BlackAug 25, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes and no noise is heard from the spark module when the electronic ignition button is pressed on your Char-Broil grill, it could be due to several reasons. The battery may not be installed properly; ensure that the '+' and '–' connectors are oriented correctly, with '+' on the cap end. The battery might be dead; replace it with a new alkaline battery. The button assembly may not be installed properly; unscrew the button cap assembly and reinstall, making sure the threads are aligned and engaged fully. Finally, the spark module itself may be faulty; in this case, replace the spark module assembly.

How to fix a Char-Broil Grill burner that won't light from other burners?
    • C
      Christopher JonesAug 28, 2025
If one burner on your Char-Broil grill does not light from the other burners, it is likely due to grease buildup or food particles in the end(s) of the carryover tube(s). Clean the carry-over tube(s) with a wire brush.

Why is the flame so low on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • B
      Brandi OwensAug 31, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame on your Char-Broil grill can be due to several reasons: you might be out of gas, so check the LP cylinder. The excess flow valve might have tripped; in this case, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If flames are still low, turn off knobs and the LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, perform a leak test, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. There might be a vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection. Turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

How do I handle a grease fire in my Char-Broil Grill?
    • M
      Mary OwensSep 3, 2025
If you have a persistent grease fire in your Char-Broil grill, it's likely due to grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. Turn the knobs to OFF and turn off the gas at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

Why are the sparks weak on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • J
      jennifer21Sep 7, 2025
Weak sparks on your Char-Broil grill can stem from several causes: * Output lead connections may not be properly connected; remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes. * Arcing may be occurring to the grill away from the burners; observe the grill in a dark location and look for arcing between output wires and the grill frame while operating the ignition system. * The battery may be weak; replace it with a new alkaline battery. * The electrodes could be wet; use a paper towel to remove moisture. * Electrodes might be cracked or broken, causing sparks at the crack; replace any cracked or broken electrodes.

What to do if my Char-Broil Grill isn't sparking but I hear a noise?
    • J
      James FryeSep 10, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed, but noise can be heard from the spark module of your Char-Broil Grill, it is possible that the output lead connections are not connected. Remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes.
