Why does my Char-Broil 463376017 have a sudden drop in gas flow?
    • W
      William SimmonsAug 12, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame in your Char-Broil Grill can occur for several reasons. You might be out of gas, so check the LP cylinder. The excess flow valve might have tripped; in that case, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If the flames are still low, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, and leak-test. Turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. Also, there might be a vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection. Turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

Why won't one burner light from other burners on my Char-Broil 463376017?
    • C
      Craig MirandaAug 16, 2025
If one burner on your Char-Broil Grill does not light from the other burners, it could be due to grease buildup or food particles in the end(s) of the carryover tube(s). Clean the carry-over tube(s) with a wire brush.

What to do if there are no sparks at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed on my Char-Broil Grill, but noise can be heard from the spark module?
    • J
      Jenna WilsonAug 20, 2025
If there are no sparks at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed on your Char-Broil Grill, but noise can be heard from the spark module, the output lead connections may not be connected. Remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes.

What to do if sparks are present but not at all electrodes and/or not at full strength on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • C
      Christopher AlvarezAug 23, 2025
If sparks are present but not at all electrodes and/or not at full strength on your Char-Broil Grill, consider the following: * Check the output lead connections. Remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes. * Look for arcing to the grill away from the burner(s). If possible, observe the grill in a dark location and operate the ignition system to look for arcing between output wires and the grill frame. * The battery might be weak. Replace the battery with a new alkaline battery. * The electrodes may be wet. Use a paper towel to remove moisture. * The electrodes could be cracked or broken ('sparks at crack'). Replace cracked or broken electrodes.

What to do if my Char-Broil Grill has a flare-up?
    • K
      Kerri OrozcoAug 27, 2025
If your Char-Broil Grill experiences a flare-up, it could be due to grease buildup. Clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Another cause could be excessive fat in the meat, so trim the fat before grilling. Finally, the cooking temperature may be too high, so adjust it accordingly by lowering the temperature.

What to do if flames blow out on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • S
      Sean WashingtonAug 31, 2025
If the flames on your Char-Broil Grill blow out, it could be due to high or gusting winds. Turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height by turning the gas valve to a higher position. Another possible cause is low LP gas, so refill the LP cylinder. The excess flow valve might also be tripped; refer to the 'Sudden drop in gas flow' solution for guidance.

What to do if my Char-Broil Grill has a persistent grease fire?
    • M
      michelle85Sep 4, 2025
If your Char-Broil Grill has a persistent grease fire, it is likely due to grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. Turn the knobs to OFF and turn the gas off at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

How to fix a flashback (fire in burner tube(s)) in my Char-Broil Grill?
    • M
      Mary MartinezSep 8, 2025
If you experience a flashback (fire in burner tube(s)) in your Char-Broil Grill, it indicates that the burner and/or burner tubes are blocked. Turn the knobs to OFF and clean the burner and/or burner tubes. See the burner cleaning section of Use and Care.
