How to stop flare ups on my Char-Broil ADVANTAGE?
    • E
      Emily FrankAug 15, 2025
Flare-ups on your Char-Broil Grill are often due to grease buildup. Make sure to clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Also, excessive fat in the meat can cause flare-ups, so trim the fat before grilling. Finally, high cooking temperatures might be the culprit, so adjust the temperature accordingly.

What to do if the flames blow out on my Char-Broil ADVANTAGE?
    • Q
      qalexanderAug 18, 2025
If the flames on your Char-Broil grill keep blowing out, it could be due to high or gusting winds. Try turning the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height. Another reason could be low LP gas, so consider refilling the LP cylinder. It's also possible that the excess flow valve has tripped; in that case, refer to “Sudden drop in gas flow”.

Why is the flame so low on my Char-Broil ADVANTAGE Grill?
    • F
      Felicia JonesAug 22, 2025
A low flame, drop in gas flow, or generally low flame on your Char-Broil grill could be due to several reasons. First, check if you are out of gas in the LP cylinder. Another potential cause is a tripped excess flow valve. To solve this, turn off the control and tank knobs, wait 30 seconds, then turn the tank knob on slowly and light the grill. If the flames are still low, turn off control and tank knobs and disconnect the regulator. Reconnect the regulator, turn on the tank valve slowly, and light the grill. Finally, vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection can cause this issue. To resolve it, turn off control and tank knobs and disconnect the regulator. Reconnect the regulator, turn on the tank valve slowly, and light the grill.

If you experience flashback (fire in the burner tubes) in your Char-Broil grill, it indicates that the burner and/or burner tubes are blocked. Turn the knobs to the OFF position and clean the burner and/or burner tubes. Refer to the burner cleaning section of the Use and Care manual for detailed instructions.

What to do if I have a grease fire in my Char-Broil Grill?
    • B
      Brooke RobertsSep 2, 2025
A persistent grease fire on your Char-Broil grill is likely due to grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. To resolve this, turn the knobs to the OFF position and turn the gas off at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

Why can't I fill my Char-Broil ADVANTAGE LP cylinder?
    • E
      Edward MorrowSep 5, 2025
If you are unable to fill your LP cylinder, it might be because some dealers have older fill nozzles with worn threads. These worn nozzles might not have enough “bite” to engage the valve. Try a second LP dealer.

    • C
      Cynthia LivingstonSep 9, 2025
If one burner does not light from the other burner(s) on your Char-Broil grill, it's likely due to grease buildup or food particles in the end(s) of the carryover tube(s). Clean the carry-over tube(s) with a wire brush to resolve this.

Why doesn't the flame carry around the burner on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • A
      Amber TrevinoSep 12, 2025
If the burner does not carry the flame around to the other side on your Char-Broil grill, it's likely due to grease buildup in the ports. Clean the ports of the burner to resolve this issue.
