Balance Control
Choosing BAL allows you to adjust
the sound between the right and
left speakers.
To adjust the speaker balance, do
the following:
1. Press the SOUND button
repeatedly to select this
display.
2. Rotate the power/volume
knob to the right or left to
adjust the speakers as desired.
The balance level will appear
on the display.
After making adjustments, press
the SOUND button again.
Fader Control
Choosing FAD allows you to adjust
the sound between the front and
rear speakers.
To adjust the speaker fade, do the
following:
1. Press the SOUND button
repeatedly to select this
display.
2. Rotate the power/volume
knob to the right or left to
adjust the speakers as desired.
The fade level will appear on
the display.
After making adjustments, press
the SOUND button again.
Equalization Settings
Choosing EQ OFF allows you to
select one of several preset
equalization settings that suit
different kinds of music or radio
stations.
To select an equalization setting,
do the following:
1. Press the SOUND button
repeatedly to select this
display.

2. Rotate the power/volume
knob to scroll through the
available equalization settings.
This feature has settings for the
following types of music or
stations: classical (CLASSIC),
dance (DANCE), rock (ROCK),
jazz (JAZZ), pop (POP),
spoken voice (VOICE) and
techno (TECHNO).
To turn this feature off, select
OFF.
After making adjustments, press
the SOUND button again.
Radio Controls
Source Selection
Press AM/FM to stop playing a
cassette or disc and switch to the
radio.
Band Selection
Press AM/FM repeatedly to
switch between the following
radio bands:
• FM1
• FM2
• AM
Manual Tuning
Press the up or down arrow on the
TUNE switch to manually tune
the radio step by step to either a
higher or lower frequency.
Station Seeking
Press the up or down arrow on the
SEEK/AST switch to tune the
radio to either a higher or lower
station.
The radio will go to the next
higher or lower station and stay
there.
