The oil pressure light should come on
briefly as the engine is started. If it does
not come on, have the vehicle serviced
by your CHEVROLET retailer.
If the light comes on and stays on, it
means that oil is not flowing through
the engine properly. The vehicle could
be low on oil and might have some
other system problem. If the engine oil
pressure warning lamp comes on while
driving, pull off the road, stop the
engine and check the oil level. Seek
assistance from your CHEVROLET
retailer.
LOW ENGINE OIL LEVEL
LIGHT
This light should come on briefly when
the ignition is turned ON as a check to
let you know that the light is working.
If this light comes on and stays on while
the engine is running, it means your
engine is low on oil. Check the oil level
as soon as possible. See Engine Oil on
page 9-6 for further information.
Caution
Lack of proper engine oil maintenance
can damage the engine. Driving with
the engine oil low can also damage the
engine. The repairs would not be
covered by the vehicle warranty.
Check the oil level as soon as possible.
Add oil if required, but if the oil level
is within the operating range and the
oil pressure is still low, have the
vehicle serviced. Always follow the
maintenance schedule for changing
engine oil.

ION
UP-SHIFT LIGHT
The vehicle may have an up-shift light.
When this light comes on, shift to the
next higher gear if weather, road, and
traffic conditions allow.
