Ignition positions
MD097
0(LOCK): Ignition off
1(ACC): Ignition off, steering wheel
lock released
2(ON): Ignition on, preheating for
diesel engine
3(START): Starting
Starting the engine
Starting engine with the
ignition switch
MD098
Turn the key to position 1, move
the steering wheel slightly to
release the steering wheel lock.
Manual transmission: Operate
clutch.
Automatic transmission : Move
selector lever to P or N.
Do not accelerate.
{Danger
Do not turn the key to 0 or 1
position while driving.
Vehicle and brake assistance
would not operate, causing vehicle
damage, personal injury or
possibly death.
Caution
Do not leave the key in 1 or 2
position for extended periods while
the engine is not running.
This will discharge the battery.
