The dynamo of the 5 HP being a model with three brushes, the third brush of which is not adjustable, the flow
of the dynamo is not adjustable. Paradoxically, the less the battery is charged, the less the dynamo delivers
and the more the degree of charge of the battery increases, the more the dynamo will discharge;
Unlike contemporary Renault and Peugeot, the inductor circuit is not protected by a 10 Amp fuse; you can
protect it by installing a fuse in place of the copper jumper.
In the event of a long trip, it is therefore necessary to monitor the ammeter and turn on the headlights to
avoid overcharging the battery (or simply remove the fuse above)

7 e – Winring harness
An organ that is often forgotten during restorations or maintenance (as long as it works…) which nevertheless
deserves careful attention since it can be the cause of a fire.
Do not hesitate to redo or completely redo the electrical harness if it is in poor condition. Today we find on the
market electric wires in the manner of varnished cotton in all sections, perfectly adapted to preserve the old
character of the car.
Avoid choosing bright colored threads; the 5 HP harness was black:

But do not forget, for safety, to add at least a 30A fuse (at the starter switch output) and a circuit breaker to be
connected to the battery earth cable. Choose one with a key, it can be used as an ignition key and an anti-theft
device and place it within easy reach, because it is in the first seconds that a fire can be suppressed.
Finally, a few relays will limit the intensity of the current in the harness and greatly improve the efficiency of the
headlights.
