chainsonalevelanddrysurface.
Snow chains
Inwintryconditions,snowchainsimprovetractionaswellasthebehaviourofthevehiclewhenbraking.
Thesnowchainsmustbefittedonly
tothefrontwheels.Theymustnever
befittedto"space-saver"typespare
wheels.
Takeaccountofthelegislationinforce
in your country on the use of snow
chainsandthemaximumrunning
speedauthorised.
Avoiddrivingwithsnowchainson
roadsthathavebeenclearedofsnow,
toavoiddamagingyourvehicle'styres
andtheroadsurface.Ifyourvehicle
isfittedwithalloywheels,checkthat
nopartofthechainoritsfixingsisin
contactwiththewheelrim.
Advice on installation
F Ifyouhavetofitthechainsduringajourney,stopthevehicleonaflatsurfaceonthesideof
theroad.
F Applytheparkingbrakeandpositionanywheelchockstopreventmovementofyourvehicle.
F Fitthechainsfollowingtheinstructionsprovidedbythemanufacturer.
F Moveoffgentlyanddriveforafewmoments,withoutexceeding30mph(50km/h).
F Stopyourvehicleandcheckthatthesnowchainsarecorrectlytightened.
