Checkalloftheselevelsregularly,inlinewiththemanufacturer'sserviceschedule.Topthemupifnecessary,unlessotherwiseindicated.
Ifaleveldropssignificantly,havethecorrespondingsystemcheckedbyaCITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
Engine oil level
Itisnormaltotopuptheoillevelbetween
twoservices(oroilchanges).CITROËN
recommendsthatyoucheckthelevel,andtop
upifnecessary,every3000miles(5000kms).
Thecheckiscarriedouteitherwhen
theignitionisswitchedonusingthe
oillevelindicatorintheinstrument
panelforvehiclessoequipped,or
usingthedipstick.
Toensurethatthereadingiscorrect,
yourvehiclemustbeparkedonalevel
surfacewiththeenginehavingbeenoff
formorethan30minutes.
Takecarewhenworkingunderthe
bonnet,ascertainareasoftheengine
maybeextremelyhot(riskofburns)
andthecoolingfancouldstartatany
time(evenwiththeignitionoff).
Checking using the dipstick
A=MAX
B=MIN
IfyoufindthatthelevelisabovetheAmarkor
below the Bmark,do not start the engine.
- IfthelevelisabovetheMAXmark(risk
ofdamagetotheengine),contacta
CITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
- IfthelevelisbelowtheMINmark,you
musttopuptheengineoil.
Refertothe"Petrolengine"or"Dieselengine"
sectionforthelocationofthedipstickinthe
enginecompartmentofyourvehicle.
F Takethedipstickbyitscolouredgripand
removeitcompletely.
F Wipetheendofthedipstickusingaclean
non-fluffycloth.
F Refitthedipstickandpushfullydown,then
pullitoutagaintomakethevisualcheck:
thecorrectlevelisbetweenthemarksA
andB.
Oil grade
Beforetopping-uptheoilorchangingtheoil,
checkthattheoilisthecorrectgradeforyour
engineandconformstothemanufacturer's
recommendations.
