3.1.7 Driving operations
Observe the maximum permissible axle loads and
total weights!
The operating, steering and braking behaviour of
the combine will be affected, e.g. by the road sur-
face and by attaching implements. Therefore, the
handling of the machine must be adapted
to existing terrain and ground conditions. Take
particular care when operating or turning on a
slope and with a full grain tank. Never take the
transmission out of gear when driving on a slope
or on uneven terrain!
The grain tank must be empty when driving
on public roads and lanes.
Never leave the operator's platform when driving.
Stay a safe distance away from low overhead
power lines (watch radio and CB radio antennas, if
installed)!
For road travel with a raised front attachment the
safety switch must be switched off.
Before driving the machine and before starting
fieldwork adjust the mirrors to give full view of the
road or lane and working area behind.
Be particularly careful when crossing level cross-
ings. When a level crossing cannot be crossed
quickly and without stopping due to road traffic or
an obstacle, stop in front of the St. Andrew's
cross. In all other cases, cross a level crossing
without stopping and standstill.
