1. Safety
Warning: Whenusing this machine, theincluded safety instructions should always be followed to avoid risk of
fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Readtheentire instruction manual before using themachine and keep it
for future reference. Always pull theplug out of thewall socket before servicing and adjusting themachine.
1.1 General safety instructions for your safety and the safety of others
1. Keep theworking areatidy.
Cluttered surfaces and benches invite accidents.
2. Do not use themachine in dangerous environments.
Themachine should not be used on moist or wet surfaces or inrain. Makesure that thework area is welllit.
Whenworking in dusty atmospheres, make sure that theair is adequately circulated. Donot operate electric
machinery in areas where they can cause afire or explosion.
3. Reduce therisk of electric shocks.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators
when using electric machinery.
4. Keep children and bystandersaway.
Keep children and visitors at asafe distance from electric machinery and electric cables in theworkplace.
5. Store electric machinery out of thereach of children.
Store electric machinery/tools locked away in asafe place, away from children.
6. Do not force themachine.
Thecorrect feed rate makes thework better andsafer.
7. Use thecorrect tool for thejob.
Do not force atool to perform atask that it was not designedfor.
8. Wear suitable attire.
Do not wear any loose-fitting clothing, gloves, necklaces, bracelets or other jewellery that can get caught in
movingparts. Non-slip footwear is recommended. Wearahairnet or similar if you have longhair.
9. Always use safety glasses.
Normal glasses are not tough enough to withstand impacts. Useadust mask or dust filter when working in
dusty environments.
10. Connect dust extraction equipment.
If themachine is equipped with dust extraction equipment, ensure that it is connected and used properly.
Makesure to empty thedust bag regularly.
11. Do not abuse themainslead.
Do not carry themachine by its mainslead. Donot yank themains lead to unplug theair compressor, hold
theplug when pulling it out of thesocket. Makesure that themains lead does not come into contact with
heat, oil, or sharpedges.
12. Secure theworkpiece firmly.
Where possible, use clamps or avice. Youcan then operate themachine using twohands. Thisis much
safer than holding theworkpiece in onehand.
13. Do not overreach.
Make sure that you stand steady and balanced at alltimes.
14. Look after yourtools.
Keep blades sharp and clean for thebest and safest performance. Follow themanual’s recommendations
regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories. Inspect themains lead regularly. Ifit is damaged it
should be replaced by aqualified service technician. Inspect all leads and cables regularly to check for any
damage. Makesure that themachine’s handles and controls are clean, dry and free from oil, greaseetc.
15. Turn thepoweroff.
Pull out theplug and push in theemergency stop button before servicing or changing any blades, drill bits,
cutters or sandingdiscs.
