OVERHEATING - As the di
ff
er
ent units of the cooling system have been
care
fully de-
sig
ned
and
thoroughly tested, should over
heat
ing occur, check the following :
(1)
Check water level in radiator,
th
e oil
pr
essure gauge, oil level in
cr
ankcase.
(2) Check the fan belt for slippage;
it
should not exceed % of an inch as shown
on above plate
and
indicated by
th
e
arr
ow.
(3) Check the ignition timing as per i
nstr
uction on page 28.
(4) Open the
thr
ottle fully, remove the radiator cap and see if coolant is circu-
lating.
(5) Examine the
radiator
hose for deterioration and replace
if
rubb
er
is loose in
th
e inside.
(6) The
radiator
core
prot
ective
scr
een may be plugged.

drain out sys-
tem, then fill with solution of 1
% pounds of ordinary washing soda to 3

cap off. Stop the
engine,
drain
solution, refill
with
clear

er.
