When your
tractor
is not to be userl f

a period of time, it should be stored in a
dry
and protected place. Leaving equipment. exposed to the weather,
for
even
short
periods,
materially shortens its life as useful equipment.

USTMENT - In all cases the hitch should be ad
just
ed so
that
the c
entr
e line
of pull of the
tractor
will fall in lin e with, or
at
least near, the centre line of

ra
ft of the hitch on the implem
ent
: Incorrect hitching will result in difficult
steering and unsatisfactory work of the implem
ent
and causes unnecessary
strain
on
th
e tractor, and implement, being suffici
ent
in some cases to cause perman-
ent damage. Make full use of the
range
adj
ustment provided by the holes in the
braces to the tractor axles and by th e sideways adjustment provided by the holes
brac
es to the
tractor
axles and by the sideways adjustme
nt
of the
drawbar
in the
drawbar
fram
e.
DRAW BAR P ULL - Yo
ur
tractor will develop more

filled with a calcium c

solution. Less slippage

CAST
WEI
GHT - The
drawbar
pull of a
tra
ct
or
can be increased by adding
cast
iron
wheel weights. They

deal

in sets of two, one
for
each

ear
wheel. Each weighs approxima
te
ly 140 pounds. For added traction, one or two
sets of weights may be installed, as shown in
Plat
e No. C-24-46, Page 37.

TIRE
PROTE
CTION DURI NG STORAGE - When not in use your
tractor
should be
stored so
that
the
tires
ar
e
prot
ected
fr
om the light. However, before storing, the
tires
should be
th
oroughly cleaned
with
wat
er.
If
it
is to be stored
for
a long p
eri
od,
ja
ck it up so
that
the load is
off
the
tir
es.
If
it is
not
jacked up,
tir
es should be checked
at
regular
int
ervals
for
proper in-
flation.
