NOTE
Diskette commands can be transmitted to the disk
by PRINT# commands or through the abbreviated
commands of DOS support. The examples in this
chapter assume that a file has been opened with the
OPEN 15,8,15 command. If the error message
?FILE OPEN ERROR appears upon typing the
OPEN command, it means that the logical file was
opened but had not been properly closed. This error
condition will automatically close the file; to re-
cover, retype the OPEN command.
NEW
Each time a diskette is placed in the drive, both the diskette and the drive must
be prepared for use. A previously unused diskette must first be formatted in the
soft-sector format recognized by your particular disk drive. This may be
accomplished by use of the NEW disk command.
