IV. Locating and Removing the DVD-RAM Drive
1. Locate the DVD-RAM drive inside the chassis (see
Figure 4-1). The drive can be identified by the icons
located on the interior drive cage.

(if there is one) from the drive by using a gentle
rocking motion. The data cable has a white or purple tab
on it. You may pull the tab to remove the cable
(see Figure 4-2).

locate the component to be
replaced.
Depending on the model
selected, your computer may
not require an audio cable.
It is recommended that you
mark the power cable
connector so that you use this
same connector when
installing your replacement
drive. However, you can
actually use any available
connector on the power cable.
