InstructionDisclaimer
Dennis Kirk provides instructions to help our customers better understand how to install the
products we sell. The instructions are exact copies of what the manufacturer includes with the
product being sold.
That means the quality and accuracy of the instructions is solely dependent on what the
manufacturer produces. We do our best to make the text legible and the pictures viewable.
However, the end result depends largely on the quality of instructions the manufacturer
provides.
Therefore, you will find that some instructions are not of the highest quality. Sometimes text is
hard to read and pictures are not easy to see. At times you will find the overall look of the
instructions to be less than professional. However, we feel it is better to provide what we have
rather than provide nothing at all.
To the best of our knowledge the instructions and application information contained in the
instructions is accurate. However, Dennis Kirk assumes no liability related to any errors that
may be contained in the copy of the manufacturer’s instructions we provide. Buyers are solely
responsible to insure that product use is consistent with their application.

Tying Down Your Motorcycle

Overview

The Condor Universal E-Track Adaptor is a system designed to facilitate the secure transport of motorcycles by integrating a Condor Wheel Chock with an E-Track system. It allows users to mount various Condor Chock models (Pit-Stop, Trailer-Only, and Scooter Chock) onto an E-Track setup, providing a stable base for tying down a motorcycle during transportation.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Condor Universal E-Track Adaptor is to provide a versatile and adjustable mounting solution for Condor Wheel Chocks within an E-Track system. It bridges the gap between the standalone wheel chock and the E-Track, enabling quick and secure attachment and detachment. The adaptor allows for adjustment of the chock's position along the E-Track, accommodating different motorcycle sizes and trailer configurations. It ensures that the wheel chock is firmly anchored, which is crucial for the stability of the motorcycle when combined with ratchet tie-downs. The system is designed to be user-friendly, with components that allow for relatively straightforward assembly and adjustment.

Important Technical Specifications:

The adaptor system includes several key components:

  • (a) 22.5" Large Square Tube W/Holes (1 unit): This forms the main structural element for the adaptor, providing length and attachment points.
  • (b) 15" Small Square Tube No Holes (1 unit): This tube slides into the larger square tube, allowing for width adjustment of the overall adaptor.
  • (c) E-Track Mounting Brackets (3 units): These brackets are designed to slide over the square tubes and attach to the E-Track system. One bracket features a locking pin mechanism.
  • (d) Allan Wrench (1 unit): Included for tightening various screws during assembly.
  • (e) Shoulder Bolts (2 units): Used to attach the clip assemblies to the ends of the long tubes.
  • (f) Button Head Screw (4 units): Used for mounting Scooter or Trailer-Only Chocks to the adaptor.
  • (g) 5/16-18 Flat Head Socket Cap Screw (4 units): Used for mounting Pit-Stop Chocks to the adaptor.
  • (h) Boomerang Bar (1 unit): Attaches to the rear of the Condor Chock, providing an additional point of contact or support. Note that these bars, when sold with the Universal E-Track Adaptor, do not have non-skid material and are intended for use only with the adaptor.
  • (i) E-Track Clips (4 units): These clips engage with the E-Track system and are secured by pins.
  • (j) 1/2"x 5-1/4" Pins with Clips (2 units): Used to secure the E-Track Clips and brackets.
  • (k) E-Track Brackets (2 units): These brackets work in conjunction with the E-Track clips to secure the adaptor to the E-Track.

The adaptor is US Patented under numbers 6,575,310; 6,648,300; 6,935,619; and Patent Pending Number 61/230,013. The system is capable of adjusting to a minimum width of 27" and a maximum width of 46", accommodating various E-Track center-to-center distances, provided they are no less than the width of the Condor Chock and no farther apart than 46".

Usage Features:

  • Adjustability: The sliding square tubes (a and b) allow for width adjustment, making the adaptor compatible with E-Track systems having varying center-to-center distances (between 27" and 46"). This flexibility is key for different trailer setups.
  • Compatibility with Multiple Chock Models: The adaptor is designed to work with Pit-Stop, Trailer-Only, and Scooter Condor Chocks, using different screw types (Flat Head Socket Cap Screws for Pit-Stop, Button Head Screws for Scooter/Trailer-Only) for secure attachment.
  • Secure E-Track Attachment: The E-Track Clips (i) and E-Track Brackets (k), secured by pins (j), provide a robust connection to the E-Track. A locking lever mechanism on the clips ensures they are securely engaged.
  • Boomerang Bar Integration: The Boomerang Bar (h) attaches to the rear of the Condor Chock, enhancing stability when used with the Universal E-Track Adaptor.
  • Angular Alignment Adjustment: The three holes on the Locking Bracket (part of c) allow for adjusting the angular alignment of the chock, providing fine-tuning for optimal motorcycle positioning.
  • Clear Assembly Steps: The manual provides a step-by-step guide for assembly, from inserting the square tubes to attaching the mounting brackets, clips, and finally the chock itself.
  • Safety Emphasis: The instructions explicitly state that the Condor Universal E-Track and Wheel Chock are not designed to hold a motorcycle in place during transportation without the use of Ratchet Tie Downs. It strongly recommends using 4 straps when tying down a motorcycle with the Universal E-Track Adaptor. Users are warned to ensure all fasteners are tight and pins are in place before use.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Fastener Checks: Users are instructed to always ensure that all fasteners are tight and all pins are in place prior to use. This is a critical maintenance step to prevent loosening during transport and ensure safety.
  • Component Inspection: While not explicitly detailed as "maintenance," the initial assembly instructions emphasize checking all parts for damage or missing components upon receipt. This implies that regular visual inspection of components for wear or damage would be a good practice to ensure continued safe operation.
  • Manufacturer Support: In case of problems setting up or using the adaptor, customer service contact information (phone and email) is provided, indicating a support channel for troubleshooting and potential part replacement.
  • Instructional Clarity: The manufacturer acknowledges that the quality of instructions can vary, but they strive to provide the best available. Users are encouraged to seek additional information from the website or customer service if instructions are unclear, which contributes to proper assembly and, by extension, product longevity and safety.
  • Responsibility for Product Use: Buyers are solely responsible for ensuring that product use is consistent with their application, which implies a need for users to understand the product's limitations and ensure it is maintained and used correctly for their specific needs.
