10. Stay alert. An animal or person may cross in front of you. People
have right of way. Be particularly careful about someone opening a
car door when you ride past it.
11. The bicycle has not been designed for acrobatics or experiments.
Enjoy it safely.
12. Be careful at all crossroads. Reduce speed and look both ways
before crossing.
13. Use hand signals. Always let other drivers and pedestrians know
what you are intending to do. Signal 30 metres before you turn
unless you need both hands to control the bicycle.
14. Use suitable headlamps and reectors. Don’t go out on your bicycle
at night without a headlamp or without a front white-coloured
reector or without a red rear reector.
15. Never hold onto a moving vehicle while you are mounting the
bicycle. Always use a helmet designed for the size of your head and
that has the authorisations required in each country.
