8 P90 Pallet racking | Installation manual
The safety in your warehouse can be increased
through the prevention of potential accidents.
Apply the user guidelines and:
map where and when problems can arise
carry out a security evaluation
implement measurements suggested in the
guidelines
carry out regular inspections
In terms of safety it is always a must to install
the racking according to the guidelines in this
manual. The racking must be inspected in
connection to the installation.
Load signs must be placed in a visible location,
and it is managements responsibility to make
sure that they are being obeyed.
The technical safety of racking is best
secured through regular inspection. For future
inspections we refer to EN15635. When handling
e.g. containers, sheets, barrels and cable drums
it is essential to complement the racking with
accessories which are specically designed,
such as cross beams, half pallet inserts etc.
When using the pallet racking for manual picking
operations, the supporting level should be
equipped with a back stop preventing the pallet
from being pushed through the racking or off the
rst beam.
For installation of pull out units it is very
important to obey the following:
All uprights must be anchored in the concrete
oor.
The back supporting beam must be secured
to the upright in question with an extra lock,
e.g. screw + nut.
The load capacity of the front beam must
correspond the unit(s) pulled out.
When positioning a pallet on the supporting
beams, the overhang of the pallet must be the
same from front and back beam. This centering
is important in order to distribute the load evenly
on the supporting beams.
An important part of the initiatives to obtain
highest level of security is to equip the pallet
racking with safety accessories, like frame
protector, upright protector etc.
