8. When the uterus is at rest, depress the UA Reference
pushbutton for 1 second. This will reset the UA reference to
the 10 unit line. The Model 145 is now ready to begin
monitoring uterine activity.

9. To check operation of the system, depress the top of the
transducer slightly and verify that there is upward deflection of
the reading on the strip chart paper.
