Economy mode
The generator has aselectable economy mode which reduces fuel consumption by lowering theengine idling speed to
alower level than normal when theapplied load is reduced or turned off. Theengine speed will increase again automatically
if theapplied load increases. Activate theeconomy mode by setting themode selector switch(12) to OFF ( ).
Do not select theeconomy mode if theapplied load requires ahigh start-up power or high running power, the engine might
not be able to reach enough speed resulting in voltage fluctuations which might damage the applied load.
Do not select theeconomy mode for applied loads that require only intermittent operation, momentary power, or loads which
will be turned on and off quickly. Inthese cases thenormal mode should be used and themode selector set to ON (
).
2. Turn thefuel supply on by switching thepetrol tap to ON.
3. Press theprimer 5–6 times.
4. Set thechoke to COLD.
5. Set theengine switch to the ON position.
6. Slowly pull thestarter handle (4) until aslight resistance is felt.
Then pull thehandle briskly to start theengine. Do NOT
let go of thestarter handle as soon as theengine starts so
that it snaps back against thegenerator. Let it recoil gently
to prevent any damage to thestarter.
7. When theengine has started: After about 10 seconds,
set thechoke to thehalf-open position for afew seconds
before setting it to WARM.
8. Allow theengine to run for acouple of minutes to ensure
that it is running smoothly before connecting theapplied
load or before switching to economy mode.
Important:
• If it is very cold when thegenerator is to be started,
thechoke might need to be left set to "COLD" for longer
and in thehalf-open position even longer.
• If thegenerator is restarted before it has cooled down
completely, thechoke might not be needed for such along
time or not at all, depending on theambient temperature.
